Gynecology Augmentation New Jersey
Labia Majora Augmentation
What Is It?
The labia majora are the outer lips of the vulva, the most visible part of the female genitalia. Age, childbirth, and hormonal changes can impact these delicate areas of your body, so many women experience loss of fullness in the labia majora over the course of their lives and this can necessitate procedures such as gynecological augmentation in New Jersey.
For some women, this loss of fullness gives their vulva a wrinkled, deflated appearance which can lead to feelings of embarrassment or a loss of confidence. For others, it can cause serious discomfort during sexual intercourse.
A labia majora augmentation increases and improves the aesthetic contour of the labia majora by enhancing their shape, correcting unbalanced proportions, and improving the firmness and texture of the skin.
This safe procedure transfers your body’s own fat to the labia majora where the natural tissue rejuvenates the size and shape of the area, eliminating sagging skin and creating a youthful, more pleasing shape.
What Can I Expect?
The technique involves the grafting your body’s fatty tissue to restore a full, healthy, youthful-looking labia majora. A typical labia majora augmentation is a minimally-invasive, two-step procedure performed on an outpatient basis.
First, Dr. Falguni Patel uses local anesthesia and gentle liposuction to extract fatty tissue from another area of your body—typically the thigh or abdomen.
Next, the fatty tissue is sterilized and precisely reinjected into your labia majora using fine gauge needles. The plumped labia majora are then molded into an aesthetically-pleasing contour.
The augmentation procedure takes about 30 minutes, although it can take longer if performed in conjunction with another body-shaping procedure.
After the procedure, you should expect some minor and temporary side effects such as bruising, swelling, and mild pain. We will prescribe medication to help you control any pain or discomfort.
The recovery process is different for every patient but normal activity is typical after a day or two. You should be able to resume moderate exercise approximately one week after surgery. We recommend avoiding strenuous or high-impact activity—including sexual activity—for at least six weeks.
Some patients may also need to wear a special compression garment for up to a month after the procedure to ensure that the fat stays in the right shape while your body heals.
You should see visible results after the procedure, but optimal results may take several weeks to allow your body time to seamlessly incorporate the new fatty tissue. Schedule a consultation and learn more about some of the best gynecological augmentation New Jersey has to offer.
Monsplasty New Jesery
What Is It?
The mons pubis, or pubic mound, is the uppermost region of a woman’s vulva. It protects the pubic bone and joint from injury, but for many women, this fleshy area can become enlarged due to weight gain, childbirth, or aging.
The excess skin and fat bulges out and sags, visibly changing the shape and appearance of the area, and creating feelings of anxiety or embarrassment. Some women with enlarged pubic mounds may even experience difficulty with normal urination or sexual activity.
Our monsplasty in New Jersey—or pubic lift—reduces extra fat on the pubic mound and tightens sagging skin to improve the area’s appearance and correct any difficulties you may be experiencing. The procedure is often performed in conjunction with labiaplasty and vaginoplasty surgery to rejuvenate the entire female pubic region.
What Can I Expect?
Depending on the extent of the procedure and the amount of tissue to be removed, either local or general anesthesia will be administered.
In our surgical suite, Dr. Falguni Patel will make a horizontal incision at the upper edge of the pubic region below your navel. She then lifts and tightens the underlying muscles. Excess skin is removed and the pubic skin is pulled upwards into its new position, creating a firmer, more contoured pubic mound. Finally, the incision is closed with sutures.
Recovery takes about a week, but we recommend limiting physical activity for 2–6 weeks, depending on the extent of the procedure. Some patients may require drains to collect post-operation fluids, but these are typically removed a few days after the procedure.
This procedure results in a slimmer profile mons that reduces hanging and bulging.
