What is Prp?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is your own blood that has been treated to separate plasma with a high concentration of platelets.
PRP works to produce collagen, stimulate the growth of new blood vessels, repair damaged tissues, and promote cell growth. It’s an all-natural way of maintaining youth by optimizing your body’s ability to heal itself!
PRP works by using your own body’s healing processes, though, so noticeable results may take some time.
Fillers with PRP
What is it?
Fillers with PRP specifically target the face but PRP can be used on other parts of the body, too.
This non-surgical rejuvenation procedure uses the nutrient-packed PRP that we extract from a sample of your blood to reduce facial wrinkles, and make your skin firmer and more elastic. It even diminishes acne scarring and brightens dull skin.
PRP rejuvenates your face by utilizing your body’s own natural platelets to create new collagen and produce tauter, smoother skin. PRP can also enhance results when used in conjunction with Botox, facial fillers, and fractional resurfacing treatments.
What Can I Expect?
Unlike PRP with collagen and microneedling, which uses a microneedling device, Dr. Falguni Patel injects your platelet-rich plasma along with a filler, using a single, super-fine needle in areas of concern.
You’ll likely need more than one treatment for best results, but the number varies by patient and will be determined during your consultation.
The procedure typically lasts about 1 to 2 hours, but only requires topical anesthesia. There should be minimal downtime, and side effects may include a mild burning or itching sensation, or swelling.
You should notice immediate smoothing as a result of the filler, and then you should see improved skin texture and glow within 2–3 weeks. Results last about a year.
PRP with Collagen and Microneedling
What is it?
This rejuvenation procedure combines a PRP treatment with collagen induction therapy, a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure also known as “microneedling.”
We extract platelet-rich plasma from a sample of your blood, and then use the all-natural PRP to reduce or eliminate many of the typical signs of aging in your face, including dull skin, fine vertical lines around the mouth, droopiness, and uneven texture. It even helps reduce scarring from trauma, acne, or chickenpox.
When the PRP is injected with the microneedling device, the tiny punctures direct the growth factors deep into your skin to rejuvenate the natural collagen. Your skin tightens and glows with color, while scars and uneven textures noticeably soften, leaving you with a beautiful, younger, more natural-looking face.
What Can I Expect?
Dr. Falguni Patel administers the treatment using the SkinPen microneedling device—the ONLY device on the market clinically proven and cleared by the FDA for treating acne scars. There is minor discomfort involved in the process, so we recommend that you prepare for a minimum of 2–3 days downtime.
You should notice an immediate tightening and smoothing of your face, but the effects of the procedure improve for 2–3 months afterward. Results typically last for at least 1–2 years.
PRP Hair Restoration
What Is It?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can also be employed as a non-invasive hair restoration treatment.
Safe and painless PRP injections trigger natural hair growth—and maintain it—by increasing blood supply in your scalp to activate the dormant roots. The PRP stimulates stem cells to both increase the thickness of existing hair follicles and grow brand-new ones.
What Can I Expect?
Using a fine needle, Dr. Falguni Patel injects PHP extracted from a sample of your blood into areas of your scalp that need increased hair growth.
Results will require several treatments at 3–6 month intervals. You should begin to see initial improvement within the first 2–6 months. Additional treatments must be performed periodically to maintain improvement.
